What Do You Depend On?
2011-11-03 12:30:00
There are some things that have changed drastically over the years in the trucking industry. We relied on cabovers, 42 footers, pay phones, the Rand McNally (hard copy version), wrist watches, and many other things while out on the road. Today, we depend on double bunks, 53 footers, cell phones, GPS, and digital clocks. You depend on these things to do your job, but what do you depend on for your daily strength? Where do turn to keep your sanity? The next time you’re alone, ask yourself what or who it is you are depending on. If you don’t know, give us a call.

Develop a Different Kind of Strength
2011-09-01 12:45:00
The trucking industry is no place for a weakling. The physical demands that are required to be truck drivers are underestimated by non-truckers to say the least. There are ways to get around some of these demands without becoming a bodybuilder, but physical strength is a part of driving truck. However having physical strength is not more important than having strength of spirit. Those in this industry face some very stressful days and situations. You must be strong willed and have “thick skin” to work in it. Use the time you spend alone to build your strength. We can help you with your workout. Give us a call. Click here to comment.

Good Things Come From Solitude
2011-07-22 15:38:00
The highway can be a lonely place filled with a lot of solitude. But many things can come from these times of solitude, and one of them is courage. Being alone causes us to face difficult times all by ourselves. Whether its slippery roads, bad weather, dark nights, or dangerous locations, we must persevere through these times and get through them. This takes courage, and these times can either enhance your courage or decrease it. Which will it be for you? Let us share with you how you can receive courage. Comment here.

Loneliness Can Help Us Grow
2011-07-01 16:42:00
Sometimes while out on the road, loneliness sets in that can seem way too heavy to bear. Let me suggest a slightly different outlook for these times. Tough times can help us grow, if we let them. Here’s just one example of how we can grow, we can develop patience. Patience doesn’t automatically come; we must go through certain circumstances to produce patience. When we’re lonely we’re in a situation where nobody is around to listen to our problems. We have no other option but to be patient until we can find someone to talk to. So next time you feel lonely, consider the good that can come of it. Comment here.

Make Friends Through Hospitality
2011-05-23 16:57:00
I once saw a Hospitality Inn while traveling. There was a 24-hour front desk, free newspapers, non-smoking rooms, facilities for disabled guests, a fitness center, a game room, a Jacuzzi, an indoor swimming pool and much, much more designed to make your life better. They offered so many things to make your stay the best it could be. It certainly was the definition of hospitality which is to treat others in a warm, friendly or generous way. What if each and every one of us offered hospitality to one another? Wouldn’t everyone's life be better? Whether it's a cup of coffee or the coveted parking spot, offer some hospitality today. You'll gain more friends and your life will be richer because of it. Comment here.

How Do You Say Hello?
2011-05-13 11:54:00
I find it interesting the different ways people greet each other. Some kiss each other's cheeks, others shake hands, and some nod their heads. In my spare time, I ride a motorcycle. Whenever I pass another bike on the road, we wave to each other. Even though we don't know each other, we wave because we’re both riders. Depending on where you live, what you drive, or what you do, there are certain ways to greet those you meet. Whatever way you decide to do it is fine, just do it more often. And don’t stop with just those you have something in common with. Greeting one another will help us feel less alienated. Comment here.

Fellowship With One Another
2011-05-06 13:30:00
I walked into a truck stop the other day and the place was packed. I had a hard time finding a seat. After I was seated and ordered my first cup of coffee, I noticed that even though there were a lot of people there, everyone seemed to be alone. I wondered to myself, “How can so many people be so alone?” Trucking is quite often a lonely and thankless career, but it doesn’t have to be. We were not created to be alone. We need interaction with others. Hey drivers, fellowship with one another as you travel the highways. The next driver you meet won’t feel so lonely and just maybe you won’t feel so lonely too. You can always give us a call. Comment here.

People Who Need People
2011-04-27 10:17:00
Loneliness is quite often related to our disappointment with our surroundings. Sometimes, we may feel like something is missing or notice an emptiness that we can’t seem to fill. Maybe you just can’t put your finger on it. Many try to fill the loneliness with things (you know what they are); however we will never fill the void that way. People are designed to connect with people. Some holes can only be filled by being around and sharing with others. Do you have any holes that you can’t seem to fill? Call us for help. Comment here.

You’re Not the Only One
2011-04-18 07:59:00
Often when we talk about being lonely, we reflect on how it affects and influences our own lives. Obviously, we do this because we are very aware of how it influences us. Maybe we also hope that by talking about it to someone else, we’re less likely to actually feel alone. However, how often do we think about it from the viewpoint of those around us? Have you thought about the loneliness of other drivers you see every day while out on the road? You never know what someone else is going through until you reach out to them. Maybe loneliness isn’t about us but about others. Maybe you can help someone else not feel as lonely by taking the time to listen. Comment here.

Don’t Bottle It Up!
2011-04-07 15:31:00
The Webster’s dictionary defines the word “share” as to divide and distribute, to partake of, use, experience, occupy, or enjoy with others, to have in common with, to grant or give a share in, and to tell (thoughts, feelings, or experiences). If you share with others in one or all of these definitions, you will have very little trouble with loneliness. It’s only when you don’t share your life with others that you may start to feel lonely. Don’t bottle up the experiences you face while out on the road. Start sharing with someone today. Give us a call. Comment here.

Freedom From Loneliness
2011-03-28 09:19:00
Solitary confinement means being kept alone in a private cell while in prison. Generally speaking, this is considered a penalty. If you have never been incarcerated it may be hard to understand how this can affect you. For those who have experienced it, you already know the impact. For people outside of the trucking industry, being alone on the road is viewed as a luxury. However, to the insiders it’s not always what it’s cracked up to be, is it? That’s because insiders know that the loneliness can be so overwhelming that it feels like being in prison. You don’t have to be in solitary confinement. You can be free! Find out today how. Dealing With Long Days and Nights
2011-03-18 14:38:00
Scientists say that the fastest way from point A to point B is a straight line. Unfortunately, there are very few straight lines on the highways. There are hills, mountains, valleys, curves, and detours all of which make our days and nights on the road even longer. Sometimes our days feel anything but fast and are filled with so much loneliness that it’s almost unbearable. During these times, think about things that are admirable. Setting your thoughts on good things will bring you peace through the lonely times. Not sure what things are admirable? Let’s talk about it. We’d be glad to help. Comment here.

Know Peace and You’ll Have No Loneliness
2011-03-10 15:53:00
When we talk about being lonely, there are some common threads woven throughout this emotion. Anxiety, anger, misunderstanding, ungratefulness and the absence of peace are all ingredients of loneliness. The opposite of loneliness is being in complete peace. You’ll also find thankfulness, understanding, forgiveness and absolutely no anxiety too. Which camp are you in? How do you find your peace? Do you even have any? Without peace, you will definitely feel the overwhelming sense of loneliness. If you need help finding some, let us know. Comment here.

How Do You Handle Loneliness?
2011-01-07 14:15:00
Loneliness is very common in the trucking industry. One way drivers avoid loneliness is by trying to fill the void with stuff. Some drivers work all the time burying themselves in their job. Some drivers fill the void with gambling, drugs or alcohol which leads to other problems. There are lot lizards out there who promise to eliminate your loneliness (for a few dollars) at least for a little while. None of these things will ever fix the real problem of being lonely. Only solid quality relationships can fill the void. I encourage you to start a new friendship today. There is someone willing to help you properly fill the void.Comment here.

You Don’t Have to Pay the Penalty
2010-10-29 08:40:00
When your truck is overweight, you pay a penalty, right? The same is true with personal problems. Did you know that hiding your problems will only make the issue worse? Drivers have gotten angry, lost control and quit their jobs or ruined friendships and marriages all because of something they were afraid to share. Are there some things you have done that are weighing heavy on your mind? That is way too much for one person to deal with alone and I don’t want to see you pay a penalty. Comment here.

It’s not good for people to be alone. Oh, I know that there are times when we would like to have some peace and quiet. Feeling Disconnected?
2010-10-25 00:18:00
Even though you travel the highways everyday and interact with many different people, loneliness has a way of settling in and disconnecting us from the outside world. It’s hard to find someone to have a real conversation with when you’re driving eleven hours a day and aren’t able to see family regularly. Do you find yourselves saying things like “Who cares?” or “Whatever.” These might be some signs that you are lonely. Let me encourage you to see out a person or two that you can call at any time. Just being able to share your thoughts and struggles will help you get through those lonely times. You could also use the quiet times to do something you like, maybe reading or listening to your favorite music, or just going for a walk. There’s always someone available to listen.Comment here.

Let Nature Keep You Company
2010-01-18 08:39:00
Loneliness is one of the most difficult parts of being a trucker. You’re alone and miles from home. There are good ways to escape the feelings of loneliness. Notice the scenery while you’re on the road; sunrise, sunset, mountains, lakes, rivers and even the beauty of the ribbon of highway as it stretches ahead of you or behind you. Nature’s beauty and bounty can fill your mind and heart and lift your spirits. At the end of your day, if the feelings of loneliness return, call someone to share the beauty of your day with and ask them about the beauty in theirs. It will fill your time with something encouraging. No one to call, you say? That’s where we come in. Give us a ring. Comment here.

Hope for Loneliness
2009-11-13 09:22:00
Loneliness is one of the emotions that attack many truck drivers. Some of the factors that cause this are spending hour after hour behind the wheel fighting traffic and other times on a long stretch of highway with only your truck for company. When you get to your destination, you are alone to deal with any problems that arise, such as the shipper not being ready for several hours, or a receiver rejecting a load. You solve all those problems and try to explain them to your employer, and it almost seems like you have to defend yourself in a court of law. You get to a truck stop to fuel up and get a meal, and the waitress just had to deal with some belligerent customer and is not in a good mood. Sounds like the end of a perfect day. But you know what? There is hope. There is something to look forward to. Contact us to find out more. Comment here.

Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder
2009-10-08 21:27:00
When my kids were young, they used to come running to greet me whenever I got home. Even though my wife didn’t come running, she missed me as much, if not more. It is a great feeling knowing that you’re missed that much. Who do you miss the most when you are out on the road? Do you think about your loved ones a lot? Do they think about you? Being by ourselves often causes us to think about the relationships that mean the most. Cherish those relationships and you’ll continue to grow close to those who you love. Comment here.

Alone in a Desert
2009-09-17 11:57:00
When I was in the military driving a fuel tanker, I experienced one of the loneliest times of my life. I was making a drop in the middle of the Mohave Desert in southern California using only grid coordinates to guide my path. That night I sat there in the desert all alone with no one in sight. You can see for a long way out there. Eventually the convoy showed up and I was back on my way. Truck driving is often like the Mohave Desert, you are all alone with very little direction on how to live your life. If you want life direction, I guarantee someone will show up. Don’t forget, we are here to help you with that. Give us a call.Comment here.

Purpose Alleviates Loneliness

Once a driver told me that for several weeks the only people he talked to were waitresses and fuel desk clerks. There are many ways to alleviate loneliness; some are good and some are bad. When we’re lonely, we really need something to sink our teeth into that will give meaning to life. Having a purpose can help us cope with loneliness much better. Instead, all too often we look in the wrong place for the answers. Next time you’re lonely, try answering the following questions: What am I here for? How did I get here? Where am I going? If you need help, just give us a ring. Comment here.

Time Alone Can Help Sort Priorities
2009-09-03 08:33:00
There is a lot of alone time in the front seat of a truck. One thing that loneliness causes us to do is to think about our live circumstances. We ask ourselves questions: What is my purpose?, What am I doing out here?, Am I where I’m supposed to be?, Is my marriage good?, Am I a good parent?, Is this the right company for me?, Am I making enough money?, and many more. These are all valid, but did you notice the order I put them in? The next time you find yourself alone think about what order your priorities are in. Keep the important things first. If you’re not sure what that should be, let us help you. Comment here.

What Do You Depend On?
2009-08-27 19:36:00
There are some things that have changed drastically over the years in the trucking industry. We relied on cabovers, 42 footers, pay phones, the Rand McNally (hard copy version), wrist watches, and many other things while out on the road. Today, we depend on double bunks, 53 footers, cell phones, GPS, and digital clocks. You depend on these things to do your job, but what do you depend on for your daily strength? Where do turn to keep your sanity? The next time you’re alone, ask yourself what or who it is you are depending on. If you don’t know, give us a call. Comment here.

Contentment Can Ease Loneliness
2009-08-25 14:26:00
When you are alone and behind the wheel of a big truck, it’s very easy to become discontent. You can be discontent with the traffic, your load destination, your pay, your spouse, family, and many other things. Our minds play tricks on us when we are tired and alone. Don’t let these times alone cause you to be unhappy with your life. Think of the good things you have. Contentment is a virtue that will pay dividends for many years to come. Many others would love to have what you have. Be content with where you are. Your life will be much happier because of it. Comment here.

Develop a Different Kind of Strength
2009-08-21 07:57:00
The trucking industry is no place for a weakling. The physical demands that are required to be truck drivers are underestimated by non-truckers to say the least. There are ways to get around some of these demands without becoming a bodybuilder, but physical strength is a part of driving truck. However having physical strength is not more important than having strength of spirit. Those in this industry face some very stressful days and situations. You must be strong willed and have “thick skin” to work in it. Use the time you spend alone to build your strength. We can help you with your workout. Give us a call. Comment here.

Good Things Come From Solitude
2009-08-19 10:54:00
The highway can be a lonely place filled with a lot of solitude. But many things can come from these times of solitude, and one of them is courage. Being alone causes us to face difficult times all by ourselves. Whether its slippery roads, bad weather, dark nights, or dangerous locations, we must persevere through these times and get through them. This takes courage, and these times can either enhance your courage or decrease it. Which will it be for you? Let us share with you how you can receive courage. Comment here.

Loneliness Can Help Us Grow
2009-08-12 08:34:00

2009-07-09 11:46:00

2009-07-02 07:17:00
I find it interesting the different ways people greet each other. Some kiss each other's cheeks, others shake hands, and some nod their heads. In my spare time, I ride a motorcycle. Whenever I pass another bike on the road, we wave to each other. Even though we don't know each other, we wave because we’re both riders. Depending on where you live, what you drive, or what you do, there are certain ways to greet those you meet. Whatever way you decide to do it is fine, just do it more often. And don’t stop with just those you have something in common with. Greeting one another will help us feel less alienated. Comment here.

Fellowship with One Another
2009-06-26 08:49:00

People Who Need People
2009-06-19 10:51:00
Loneliness is quite often related to our disappointment with our surroundings. Sometimes, we may feel like something is missing or notice an emptiness that we can’t seem to fill. Maybe you just can’t put your finger on it. Many try to fill the loneliness with things (you know what they are); however we will never fill the void that way. People are designed to connect with people. Some holes can only be filled by being around and sharing with others. Do you have any holes that you can’t seem to fill? Call us for help. Comment here.

You’re Not the Only One
2009-06-11 14:11:00

2009-06-03 12:36:00
The Webster’s dictionary defines the word “share” as to divide and distribute, to partake of, use, experience, occupy, or enjoy with others, to have in common with, to grant or give a share in, and to tell (thoughts, feelings, or experiences). If you share with others in one or all of these definitions, you will have very little trouble with loneliness. It’s only when you don’t share your life with others that you may start to feel lonely. Don’t bottle up the experiences you face while out on the road. Start sharing with someone today. Give us a call. Comment here.

Freedom From Loneliness
2009-05-22 12:15:00
2009-05-14 08:02:00

2009-05-06 11:33:00
When we talk about being lonely, there are some common threads woven throughout this emotion. Anxiety, anger, misunderstanding, ungratefulness and the absence of peace are all ingredients of loneliness. The opposite of loneliness is being in complete peace. You’ll also find thankfulness, understanding, forgiveness and absolutely no anxiety too. Which camp are you in? How do you find your peace? Do you even have any? Without peace, you will definitely feel the overwhelming sense of loneliness. If you need help finding some, let us know. Comment here.

How Do You Handle Loneliness?
2009-03-05 09:05:00
Loneliness is very common in the trucking industry. One way drivers avoid loneliness is by trying to fill the void with stuff. Some drivers work all the time burying themselves in their job. Some drivers fill the void with gambling, drugs or alcohol which leads to other problems. There are lot lizards out there who promise to eliminate your loneliness (for a few dollars) at least for a little while. None of these things will ever fix the real problem of being lonely. Only solid quality relationships can fill the void. I encourage you to start a new friendship today. There is someone willing to help you properly fill the void. Comment here.

You Don’t Have to Pay the Penalty
2009-01-16 08:27:00
When your truck is overweight, you pay a penalty, right? The same is true with personal problems. Did you know that hiding your problems will only make the issue worse? Drivers have gotten angry, lost control and quit their jobs or ruined friendships and marriages all because of something they were afraid to share. Are there some things you have done that are weighing heavy on your mind? That is way too much for one person to deal with alone and I don’t want to see you pay a penalty. Comment here.

Alone Much?
2009-01-13 10:26:00
It’s not good for people to be alone. Oh, I know that there are times when we would like to have some peace and quiet. But we need to spend time with other people to unload the highs and lows of our day. If we keep things to ourselves, we may eventually explode. Remember other people may have gone through the same things you are dealing with, and they can help. There are many ways to connect with others: phone, internet, or the old fashioned way of sitting down face to face sharing and listening. Start sharing with someone today. Comment here.

Feeling Disconnected?
2009-01-12 14:01:00
Even though you travel the highways everyday and interact with many different people, loneliness has a way of settling in and disconnecting us from the outside world. It’s hard to find someone to have a real conversation with when you’re driving eleven hours a day and aren’t able to see family regularly. Do you find yourselves saying things like “Who cares?” or “Whatever.” These might be some signs that you are lonely. Let me encourage you to seek out a person or two that you can call at any time. Just being able to share your thoughts and struggles will help you get through those lonely times. You could also use the quiet times to do something you like, maybe reading or listening to your favorite music, or just going for a walk. There’s always someone available to listen. Comment here.
