No one needs to be taught how to lie. It comes naturally to us. Listen to any small child, and it will soon become evident that the child will lie to circumvent authority to prevent being punished for some infraction of rules. Today’s society seems to support lying to accomplish whatever end is desired. We use euphemisms to avoid calling a lie what it really is. We call it a “white lie”, or “stretching the truth”. Driver, don’t believe it. It’s wrong to lie. Sometimes it seems hard to tell the truth, but better to live in truthful reality than always covering our tracks to uphold a falsehood or live in hiding.
